As you probably already know, in addition to The Last of Us or God of War series, another PlayStation exclusive has the right to its film adaptation. Indeed, a Gran Turismo movie is due to hit the big screen soon. Moreover, we recently had the right to a first preview video (“sneak peek” in English).
A first teaser for the film Gran Turismo
This very short trailer, shared on January 4 on Sony Pictures’ YouTube channel, offers us first images and shots of the movie Gran Turismo, the filming of which began in November 2022. As a reminder, this film adaptation is based on a true story, and more precisely that of Jann Mardenborough. It is, moreover, Neill Blomkamp (known for the films District 9 and Elysium, among others) who is in charge.
On the casting side, we find Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings) in the role of Danny Moore, Archie Mardekwhe (See series) playing Jann Mardenborough, but also David Harbor (Stranger Things) playing Jack Salter, who will most certainly mentor figure for the protagonist and young pilot.
According to the latest information shared, the movie Grand Turismo is scheduled for August 11, 2023.
