Granblue Fantasy Relink (finally) finds its release date

Since this is the very first time that Granblue Fantasy Relink benefits from a precise release date, we have every reason to believe that this time is the right one. Gamescom was also an opportunity to offer a number of new information: Granblue Fantasy Relink will be available in three different physical versions (Standard, Deluxe, Collector), and these are already available for pre-order. In addition to these announcements, the Opening Night Live of the Cologne show allowed Cygames to unveil a brand new trailer for its action RPG. The latter notably stages the combat system, which seems to show many similarities with Tales of (and particularly Arise).

From gacha to JRPG in due form

As a reminder, the Granblue Fantasy license is above all a gacha for mobiles, which had been able to make a name for itself in Japan for having brought together two major figures from Square: the composer Nobuo Uematsu and the artistic director Hideo Minaba, the two having already collaborated for several projects in the past (Final Fantasy V, VI, IX or Lost Odyssey). The license then put the emphasis on the classic turn-based, before establishing itself as a credible alternative on the scene of the versus fighting with Granblue Fantasy Versus. The latter will also be entitled to a sequel, just before the release of Relink: Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, still developed by Arc System Works, was entitled to its release date two weeks ago now and will be available from the 30 next November. There is no doubt that this winter will be particularly important for Cygames to determine if the Granblue Fantasy license proves to have a future in Japan, but also and especially in the West, where JRPGs seem to be enjoying a growing resurgence in popularity in recent years.
