Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will be delayed, creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara explains

Yesterday, we brought you details regarding the second open beta of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Risinga fighting game taking place in the universe of Cygames which is developed by Arc System Works and will follow the first episode released in 2020. Everything seemed to be going well since the announcement of its release date and its editions during theEVO 2023 this summer, set for Thursday November 30, 2023 on PS5, PS4 and PC (Steam). Unfortunately, there will be a bit of a delay, as the launch has just been postponed… to Thursday December 14, 2023With l’Early Access of three days now starting on December 11.

It’s on the official site of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising that Tetsuya Fukuhara spoke to explain the reason for this two-week delay

Hello everyone, this is creative director Fukuhara.

I want to start by thanking the fans and players of GBVS, the fighting game community, and everyone who has been eagerly awaiting the release of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. We originally announced that the release would take place on November 30, but we have made the very difficult decision to push back the release date.

After our first online beta in July, the development team worked hard to rework the game mechanics and combat design in time for the originally planned release date. Despite our best efforts, it has become clear to me that additional time will be needed to put the finishing touches on the game.

After completing our adjustments to the game’s combat mechanics, we revealed the changes during our stream ” Balance and System Adjustments » on October 20 and during the first public playtest during the “GBVS Official Tournament, vol. 7” last weekend, where they received an overwhelmingly positive reception.

However, due to the number of modes affected by these changes, we found that the overall impact was much greater than expected and decided that, in order to meet player expectations, we would need two more weeks of tweaking and debugging to release a truly high quality product. We regret to announce this as the second beta is fast approaching, but rest assured that the beta schedule itself has not changed.

To everyone who has been looking forward to Rising, I would like to sincerely apologize for announcing this delay so close to the original release date and ask that you please be patient a little longer while we put the finishing touches on the game . We are working hard to deliver this new installment in the Granblue Fantasy series and to make it the best fighting game possible. We’re working hard to make this a game worth waiting for, so we hope you’ll look forward to it. See you on December 14.

Nothing too serious, just hoping that this short additional development time is enough. The press release also gives us news of Granblue Showcase GBVSR Part.2 which was scheduled for November and whose broadcast date is now set for Saturday, December 2. The latest news regarding the game will be given there and a tournament with members of the development team will take place there. We can assume that the first fighter in DLC will be revealed for the occasion in order to boost sales of the edition Deluxe. The duration to use the code GBVSR Pack in order to receive bonuses in Granblue Fantasy has been extended from March 31 to April 30, 2024.

Hopefully, unlike Granblue Fantasy Versus: Risingthere is no delay on the side of Granblue Fantasy: Relinkwhich you can pre-order on Amazon Or to the Fnac priced at €59.99.
