FC Bayern goes on the offensive with top talent

The name of Ryan Gravenberch has been mentioned for a long time when it comes to how FC Bayern will be strengthened in terms of personnel in the coming season. Now the Munich team has apparently made a concrete offer for the Dutch top talent for the first time.

FC Bayern is working on the squad for the new season. The Munich team should apparently intensify their efforts to attract Dutch top talent Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam. According to a report in the daily newspaper “De Telegraaf”, the record champions are said to have made an offer of 25 million euros for the 19-year-old midfielder at a meeting with those responsible for the Dutch club.

The tall youngster, who is 1.90 meters tall, has already played ten international matches for Oranje (one goal). Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are set in the Munich midfield. Behind them Marcel Sabitzer, Marc Roca and Corentin Tolisso serve as backups. The latter could go in the summer – and just make room for Gravenberch. The other two players are also considered candidates for sale.

The 19-year-old is tied to Ajax until 2023, who would like to extend it with his homegrown talent. Should he leave the club, Amsterdam probably imagines a transfer fee of 35 million euros. According to the media, there is powerful competition for Bayern. Juventus Turin, Manchester United and Real Madrid are said to have signaled an interest in a commitment. Gravenberch, like some of the big names in the scene, including Dortmund’s top striker Erling Haaland, will be advised by Mino Raiola, with whom the Munich club boss Oliver Kahn recently met.

Kahn is said to have been there with sports director Hasan Salihamidžić and technical director Marco Neppe for the negotiations with Ajax. Salihamidžić only pointed out at the weekend that Bayern, after two years of the Corona crisis, were also “financially going through a difficult phase”. “We have to make sure that our quality in the team and the economic component fit together,” he told the Sky TV channel.
