Great Britain: GDP rebound in line with expectations in January

PARIS (Reuters) – The British economy rebounded in January as expected, according to data published on Wednesday by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.2% after contracting 0.1% the previous month and in line with the expectations of economists polled by Reuters.

Compared to January 2022, GDP shows a contraction of 0.3%, as expected by the consensus, after zero growth in December.

On the foreign exchange market, the pound sterling stood at $1.2783, down 0.05%, after the publication of this statistic.
