Great Britain: Inflation appears below consensus in January


February 14 (Reuters) – Inflation in the United Kingdom remained stable at 4.0% year-on-year in January, below expectations, data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed on Wednesday. .

Economists polled by Reuters on average forecast a rebound to 4.2% after 4.0% in December.

Excluding energy and food, the rise in consumer prices stood at 5.1% last month, as in December. The Reuters consensus was 5.2%.
