At Lidl it’s all about Christmas at the moment. The Toniebox, with which they can listen to music, radio plays or audio books, is very popular with many children. However, the original is not a bargain, nor are the Tonie figures.

However, Lidl currently has a recommended Toniebox alternative, namely the SpeakerBuddy Audiobox. The music box is on sale shortly before Christmas for just 20 euros, the discounter normally charges 57.99 euros. It is available in blue and purple/pink. The matching radio play coins are currently available for just 2.99 euros instead of the usual 7.99 euros.

The portable speaker offers a battery life of up to 10 hours and has a built-in night light with five brightness levels. The internal memory is 8 gigabytes in size and offers enough space for songs, stories, etc. If, for example, parents do not want to listen to the loudspeaker while driving in the car, headphones can be connected.

Parents also have the opportunity to adjust important settings via the SpeakerBuddy app. Playback time, maximum volume, brightness of the night light and more can be set in the software.

Coins instead of figures

Smaller children will be able to operate the box. There are large control buttons for fast forwarding, rewinding and changing the volume. The scope of delivery includes a charging cable and a creative coin. In contrast to the Toniebox, coins with contents are not placed on the box instead of small figures. They stay there magnetically.

The creative coin can be used with your own content. You also have the option of buying pre-recorded creative coins. Lidl offers a total of 40 different coins for children aged 3, 4 or 5. Popular classics such as Benjamin Blümchen, Barbie and the Wild Guys are included.

With the SpeakerBuddy from Lidl you don’t have to compromise on the original. Only the selection of pre-recorded coins is smaller than the number of Tonies available. However, the included creative coin can easily be played with your own music or radio plays.
