The social and political crisis that has affected France for several weeks has paralyzed the government of Elisabeth Borne, to such an extent that it postpones its projects such as the green industry law that Bercy was to present on Monday. A text which aims to respond to the measures taken by Washington to attract new factories to the United States.

In a context of social and political crisis and on the eve of the tenth day of mobilization against the pension reform, the presentation of the working groups on the green industry law which was to be held, this Monday, March 27, at the Ministry of Economy has been pushed back. According to the entourage of Bruno Le Maire, the moment is not favorable, Bercy does not see how to overcome the political crisis.

“We are paying for total democratic disorganization”

“People are in the street against a certain practice of power. We are paying for total democratic disorganization”, we slip in the entourage of the Minister of the Economy. Different options are on the table, according to Bercy. Wait for the passage of the pension reform before the Constitutional Council, at the beginning of April, or seize the hand extended by Laurent Berger and his proposal to suspend the pension reform. Both of these options are considered perilous.

Bercy expects a clear direction from the President of the Republic.

Bruno Le Maire’s entourage believes that events are forcing the executive to do an about face. The text of the Green Industry law, which should allow France to continue to reindustrialize without suffering from American competition, is ready, but Bercy is waiting for a clear orientation from the President of the Republic.
