Greenland 2: is a sequel planned for the disaster film with Gerard Butler?

Released in August 2020, Greenland (broadcast tonight on TF1), worn by the duo Gerard Butler / Morena Baccarin, will he be entitled to a sequel?

Gerard is back! After surviving the apocalyptic events of Greenland, Gerard Butler will be back for a second installment!

The actor will reprise his role as John Garrity alongside Morena Baccarin. The latter will play his ex-wife, Allison. Titled Greeland Migration, the film is currently in pre-production.

In the first installment, a comet was about to crash into Earth, about to cause a planetary apocalypse. John decided to embark on a perilous journey with his ex-wife Allison and their son Nathan to reach the last refuge safe from disaster.

In the second part, John and his family will be forced to leave this shelter in Greenland to find a new home. They will then embark on a dangerous journey through the frozen and desolate lands of Europe.

If the first episode had the subtitle “Le Denier refuge”, this second opus will therefore be called “Greenland: Migration”. Filming should begin soon, still under the direction of Ric Roman Waugh.

The director will find Gerard Butler for the 3rd time after The Fall of the President and Greenland. The two artists never leave each other! They also have the Night Has Fallen project in the works, in which Butler will reprise his role as secret agent Mike Banning.

THE NEXT FILMS WITH GÉGÉ

The 53-year-old British actor will soon star in Criminal Squad 2, Kandahar, and The Plane, directed by Jean-François Richet. In this film, Butler plays Brodie Torrance, an airline pilot. Caught in a violent storm with his plane, the latter managed the feat of landing it on dry land.

But he will quickly discover that he is in a war zone. He and the passengers then find themselves taken hostage. Brodie is going to have to take matters into his own hands to get everyone out of this potentially deadly situation.

Plus, King Leonidas of 300 will soon meet the creator of the world’s most relentless hitman: John Wick! According to Deadline, the comedian will star in Just Watch Me, a new action project from Derek Kolstad, screenwriter of the John Wick trilogy.

It is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jeff Lindsay, known for having created Dexter in a literary series. The famous killer was then played on the small screen by Michael C. Hall.

In Just Watch Me, Gerard Butler will slip into the costume of Riley Wolfe, an ingenious thief and expert in disguises. He doesn’t hesitate for a second to resort to violence if anyone dares to get in his way.

The actor will also be the hero of Afterburn, the next feature film from The Villainess director, Byung-gil Jung. It will camp a treasure hunter criss-crossing a post-apocalyptic Earth.

Another project currently in pre-production, Remote Control, will see Gerard Butler slip into the guise of a British corporate intelligence analyst. The latter will find himself embroiled in a conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the Chinese economy.

In the meantime, you can find Gerard Butler on Prime Video in the action movie Last Seen Alive, available since August 1st.
