Grégory’s grandfather, Albert Villemin, died at the age of 92 on the weekend of February 18, according to information from France Bleu. His death was confirmed to our colleagues by Thierry Moser, the historic lawyer for the parents of little Grégory.
He died three years after his wife Monique Villemin, at the start of the pandemic in 2020. Due to fragile health, the couple had been admitted to an Ephad in Baccarat, in Meurthe-et-Moselle. The paternal grandparents were heard one last time as witnesses in the relaunch of the case in 2017.
As a reminder, little Grégory, barely four years old, was kidnapped on October 16, 1984, while he was playing in front of his parents’ house. His body had been found dead in the Vologne, a river in the Vosges. His father, Jean-Marie Villemin, never ceased to accuse his parents (particularly his mother Monique) of having information about the death of his child, in order to protect his older brother Michel, with whom he was. in conflict. The death of Grégory’s grandfather therefore bury a little more the chances of elucidating this criminal case, which marked French public opinion.
