Grendizer returns to bring down his lightning fists in a video game!

The Grendizer license is immortal. Not only is a new anime supposed to be released soon, but the giant robot will also tumble into a video game this year with “Goldorak: the feast of the wolves”, announced by the publisher Microïds.

It is an understatement to say that Grendizer left an indelible mark on a whole generation of spectators, fascinated by the adventures of Prince Actarus and his giant robot from outer space.

Since its first broadcast in Récré A2 in July 1978, the animated series has delighted fans, who have all sung the various credits in the playgrounds, taking themselves for the prince of Euphor.

Created 48 years ago, the license is more alive than ever. Not only is a new anime supposed to see the light of day this year, but the franchise will soon return in the form of a video game.

The publisher Microïds announces the release this year of Grendizer: Wolves’ Feast. This fighting game will follow the first story arc of the animated series, offering the opportunity to relive the most significant moments of the series.

And, just to get it right, the game will also include the anime’s iconic musical themes through re-orchestration furthering the immersion.

The title should combine several game phases, ranging from Shoot’em up (piloting Grendizer’s Spazer) and third-person combat with the giant robot, all sprinkled with a touch of exploration. At least the time, we imagine, to come across a henchman sent by the Vega empire and settle his account.

Microïds even splits a small trailer. Short and not necessarily representative of the final result as mentioned in the overlay at the bottom left, it at least sets the mood.

Asteraxe, cornofulgure, retrolaser, fulguropoing and other clavicogyre (remember! It was Grendizer’s clavicles projected towards the opponent which returned to their housings!) will logically be on the menu in Grendizer: Feast of the Wolveswhose exact release date is still unknown.
