Greta Thunberg showed her musical side at a concert. On stage she surprised with a vocal interlude.

The Swedish activist Greta Thunberg (18) surprised at a concert for climate protection in Stockholm with a vocal interlude. Together with the “Fridays for Future” activist Andreas Magnusson (17), the 18-year-old performed Rick Astley’s song “Never Gonna Give You Up” on Saturday evening (October 16) in front of a cheering crowd – including a dance performance.

As the Swedish newspaper “Aftonbladet” writes about a video on Instagram, it was the first time that Thunberg sang live in front of an audience. She told the newspaper, “After all, we’re basically teenagers joking with each other, not just angry kids as the media often portrays us.” The musical talent runs in Greta Thunberg’s blood: Her mother Malena Ernman (50) is an opera singer and represented Sweden in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Thunberg’s younger sister Beata is also active as a singer.
