ABC broadcast this Thursday evening the last two episodes of season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy, which, tradition requires, were marked by many twists and turns, but also by the return of emblematic characters.

A large part of the Gray Sloan doctors indeed traveled to Boston for the Catherine Fox Award ceremony, where Nick (Scott Speedman), Winston (Anthony Hill) and Maggie were nominated.

The opportunity for Ellen Pompeo and Kelly McCreary to make an appearance in this double episode in order to complete the intrigues left in suspense after their departure during the season. But the real event of this finale took place at the Gray Sloan Memorial.

Teddy between life and death

In the final minutes of the Season 19 finale, as Teddy (Kim Raver) is about to perform surgery on Sam, a patient played by Sam Page who entered Gray Sloan following a Wingsuit accident. , she suddenly collapses. His heart stopped.

And since we’re at Gray Sloan Memorial, the patient’s heart also stopped at the same time. As the interns try to save him, Owen (Kevin McKidd) arrives and tries to revive Teddy. It is on this dramatic scene that season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy ends.

Does Kim Raver bid farewell to the series?

While the writers of Grey’s Anatomy probably planned to leave fans worrying all summer about Teddy’s fate, the suspense was unfortunately short-lived.

Shortly before the broadcast of this dramatic double episode, the American site Deadline revealed the names of the actors who have renewed their contract with the medical series. And among them were Kim Raver, thus confirming that Teddy will be back in season 20, and that Owen will succeed in saving her.

In addition to Raver, Kevin McKidd, who has played Owen since season 5, Camilla Luddington, who first appeared as Jo Wilson in season 9, and Caterina Scorsone, aka Amelia Shepherd have also signed on for the next season.

James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) and Chandra Wilson (Bailey), the last two members of the original cast, will also be there. Also according to information from Deadline, the actors who play the five new interns should also return in season 20, even if their presence has not yet been officially confirmed.
