Grey's Anatomy: Filming finally resumes

The supplies are assured: The shooting of the 17th season of "Grey's Anatomy" should continue this month.

"Grey's Anatomy" is back to work: As the US industry magazine "Variety" reports, filming for the 17th season of the doctor series will begin this month. Production of the first two episodes could start as early as next week in Los Angeles. However, when exactly the show will return to screens remains to be seen. The production on the new season was stopped in March.

The current pandemic is also to be addressed in the new season, as Krista Vernoff, executive producer of the show, announced in a panel. "There is no way to do a long-running medical series and not include the greatest medical story of our time," she said. "I feel like our show has the opportunity and the responsibility to tell some of those stories."

In Germany, ProSieben will show the final 13 episodes of the 16th season every Wednesday (8:15 p.m.) from September 2nd. Due to the corona pandemic, the season is shorter. It's over after episode 21 – it's not the finale that was actually planned.
