69 productions have been nominated for the 57th award of the Grimme Prize – including "Unorthodox" and Joko and Klaas' "Men’s Worlds".

From over 850 productions submitted, the Grimme Prize Commission selected 69 works and special achievements that will enter the race for one of the 16 prizes at the 57th edition of the award ceremony from mid-March. The final selection is divided into the four categories "Fiction", "Information & Culture", "Entertainment" and "Children & Youth"; the winners will be announced on May 11th.

The 18 articles in the "Fiction" section include the Netflix series "Unorthodox" by Maria Schrader (55, "Before the Dawn"). The miniseries about a young Jew recently went empty-handed at this year's Golden Globes ceremony, and Schrader was more lucky at the Emmys 2020 and was honored. The dramedy series "The Last Word" with Anke Engelke (55) has also been nominated, as well as the two "Tatort" episodes "Parasomnia" and "Unclear Situation". Also in the running: the films "Herren", "Kopfplatzen" and "Now or Never", the multi-part series "Unterleuten – Das terrissene Dorf" and the improv series "Forever Summer 90" with Charly Hübner (48).

Eleven programs or contributions have been nominated in the "Entertainment" category, including permanent Grimme guest "ZDF Magazin Royale", "The Carolin Kebekus Show" (a special episode on the subject of racism), "Teddy gönnt dir!" as well as "Bauerfeind – Die Show zur Frau". And also Joko Winterscheidt (42) and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (37) made it onto the list with their 15 minutes of broadcasting time gained by the station ProSieben, which they dedicated to "men's worlds".
