Grow out bangs – the best styling tricks

My new pony …

Have you had your bangs for a week or two? Wonderful. Because now he falls best. Blow dry with a small round brush for proper styling and blow against the roots. That creates volume. Then let it cool down, brush out the curvature again and spray with hairspray. "If you like it a bit more discreet, the best way to blow-dry is from above. This creates no volume. Or you can straighten with a flat iron," recommend Heike Niederstucke and Wera Wittek, owners of the hairdresser "Ponyclub" in Cologne.

Flogged …

If the bangs are still short, but long enough to tickle the eyes from time to time, hairbands in all variations are a practical accessory. It is best to wear your hair closed: A loosely bound bun or a sporty ponytail are ideal companions for the hair band. So that no cheeky pony strands distract from the look, fix beforehand with a little wax or hairspray.

Tip: The headband is also very popular right now!

If the bangs have grown beyond your eyebrows, hair clips are your best friends. Fortunately, stylish and eye-catching hair clips are also trendy right now!

A great evening look: Brush your hair close to the head with an extra portion of gel or wax and fix the pony strands with bobby pins on the side (see picture on the left). Incidentally, this look also looks great with short haircuts. Or you split the bangs in the middle, put away the strands and twirl the remaining hair into a high chignon (see picture center). The third variant is rockier: knead styling foam into your hair and blow dry it overhead. So the hair becomes voluminous. Pull a side parting and stick a hair comb or hoop into the side of the hair (see picture on the right).

Affair …

If the pony hair has already grown to the tip of the nose and falls into the face, you can carry it perfectly to the side. Either casually pulled to the side parting and blow-dried in shape with a paddle brush (see picture on the left). Or turn your hair in casually – now the bobby pins come into play again – and put them back. The whole thing can look a little unmade, undone hairstyles always look nice and casual. If your hair is cut in stages, you can also tie a braid and pluck out the front strands (see picture center). Sienna Miller's red carpet look is particularly elegant (see picture on the right). If the bangs are long enough, they can be turned using a large curling iron. Roll in the still warm hair, clamp it, let it cool for a few minutes and then brush it out gently. The Hollywood wave is finished!

Almost there …

… there is almost no longer any question of a pony. More of casual levels. You are almost there! Now the hairdresser can cut again so that the steps fall nicely. "Ask for a cut with the modeling or thinning scissors! It is often enough to change the proportions by thinning the hair – and not changing the length", said Heike Niederstucke and Wera Wittek from the "Ponyclub". A middle parting now looks particularly casual.
