GSK: new financial director recruited at Burberry


(CercleFinance.com) – GSK announced on Monday the appointment of Julie Brown as the group’s next chief financial officer, effective May 2023.

Currently in charge of operations and finance for the British luxury house Burberry, she will replace Iain Mackay, who has decided to leave the pharmaceutical laboratory.

GSK points out that Julie Brown is a ‘highly respected’ business executive with 25 years’ experience in financial and strategic roles.

Prior to her arrival at Burberry in 2017, she had been the chief financial officer of British implant manufacturer Smith & Nephew for four years.

She had previously held the position of interim Chief Financial Officer of the AstraZeneca group.

Julie Brown also previously sat on the board of directors of the Swiss health giant Roche, where she was the chairman of the audit committee.

GSK shares rose almost 2% Monday morning on the London Stock Exchange following his appointment.
