However, it seems that he did not stop there since he claimed to be in possession of the source codes of GTA 6 but also that of Grand Theft Auto 5, As a result, some clever little girls wanted to make their money on the backs of others, and one of them managed to resell this “famous source code” of GTA 5…
A scammer is selling fake GTA 5 source code
Yes, unfortunately we had to expect this kind of phenomena with this incredible story. If the real hacker responds to the name of Teapots2022 or Teapotuberhacker, it will not take long for other people to pretend to be him to scam other people hoping to get their hands on a few thousand dollars (via PhonAndroid).
A smart guy pretended to be him, claiming that he was indeed Teapot, and then managed to take advantage of someone’s credulity to extract a large sum. How did he do it? Well as we told you, he pretended to be the hacker in question, and took advantage of the fact that the real source code wasin the words of Teapot himself, for sale, to affirm in turn and not without blushing that he was indeed selling it to anyone who would exchange it for a few bitcoins (always pretending to be the real hacker). Thus, a very gullible person believed it, and therefore paid 5 bitcoins to our scammer, thinking that it was the real Teapot, and you should know that 5 bitcoins still represent the sum of 100,000 dollars. Result: the person who thought he had bought the source code of GTA 5 ended up with wind and lost a large sum of money.
Rockstar Games and Uber hand in hand, what we know about the alleged hacker
Since this dark affair, Rockstar Games has decided not to let this story go by the wayside, and is now in collaboration, shall we say, with the company Uber, which was also hacked a few days before by the same hacker. But who is he really? Well according to several information, we would be dealing with a young man of 16 who would belong to the group of pirates by the name of Lapsus. If the group is known to have penetrated certain systems like that of the giant Samsung, it would nevertheless have acted alone with regard to the starred firm and Uber.
It is now up to the FBI to do its job, but also to the US Department of Justice. Our hacker risks very very big because he faces two big companies, and as a reminder, Rockstar Games does not hesitate to show his teeth when it comes to attacking.
