At a time when absolutely everything, or almost everything, tends towards the use of digital, what better for a planetary artist such as Kanye West than using one of his favorite video games to promote his brand new Yeezy clothing collection?
Eh yes, the american superstarknown for her rap (but also her few controversies), decided to take inspiration from the Rockstar Games juggernaut Grand Theft Auto 5, to lift the veil on its new pieces. Good or bad idea, the result is still quite entertaining to watch.
Kanye West is inspired by GTA 5 to present his new collection
If almost nothing surprises us anymore, Kanye West hit hard enough by slipping into the skin of a video game character, to present his YZY Gap collection by Balenciaga. In a short video, we see our international rapper choose one of the many outfits from his new collection, but everything is done in such a way that we think we are dealing with a real video game, and more specifically a game of the GTA license.
As our character (Kanye West) opts for an outfit, we later see him perform movements (running, jumping, walking…) in the same way we might see CJ in action in GTA San Andreas.
As you can see, absolutely all GTA codes, at least the old ones, are there like the life bar, the stars, the mini-map, or even the ringing telephone. Otherwise, the movements he performs but also the reaction of the “NPCs” recall not without difficulty those of the first games. A great feat. Whether we like Kanye West or not, we still have to admit that promoting his new collection in this way was a masterstroke, and we can’t wait to see what he will do in the future.
