GTA 6: London police confirm that they have arrested the alleged hacker, aged only 17

The story behind the hack GTA 6 is as exciting to watch as it is devastating to Rockstar. Faced with the scale of the data theft, the FBI looked into this case which would be linked to several hacks that occurred at Uber and other companies. Friday, we learned thata 17-year-old man was arrested the day before and was suspected of having a connection with this whole affair. London police and journalist Matthew Keys of The Desk confirm this.

A young hacker who already has a criminal record

The hunt will therefore not have lasted long, but we will be surprised to see such a young hacker being the presumed mastermind behind this gigantic hacking operation. His name is obviously not given (The Desk refers to him as AK only). The police would have worked together with the FBI to identify AK in order to prove that he was behind the hack of Uber, but also of Rockstar, thanks to similar attack techniques between these two cases.

We learn that the young man was already accused of several attacks of the same kind, and was currently residing in his mother’s house awaiting a decision on his fate. It was therefore not her first blow, and that earned her to have other charges to add to her trial, which led the justice to place her in detention until further notice.

The Desk states thatat least two other people are believed to be involved in this case, which means that the hunt for suspects is not entirely over. As a reminder, AK would also be part of a group called Lapsus$, which had attacked Microsoft or Nvidia.
