Subsequently, the firm confirmed that this leak was real, but that it would have no effect in development, while regretting that the first images, although from an old build, are shared in this way . In the process, Rockstar had promised us new information, which has not yet been communicated, but it could be done quite quickly.
Development finished for GTA VI?
This information could go beyond a simple teaser, since the developers would have already made good progress on GTA VI, as revealed by some more or less well-informed people. According to different sources, including Tez2, which is relatively reliable on this subject, there is a lot of information to confirm that the development of GTA VI has progressed quite well in the process, especially thanks to the mentions that we could read in the leaked videossuch as “bankrelease.exe”, “beta.exe” or even “debug.exe”.

According to other users, including a developer, these indications can mean that the development, as such, is finished. All the features and content that was imagined by Rockstar have been developed, but that does not mean that the work on this opus is finished. As these names show, it is now necessary to find and correct all the problems, but also to optimize the experience. This is the so-called “polish” phase in English, which we could translate as “tweaking”, in order to detect all the concerns that have crept into the game in recent years..

However, and it is important to specify this, this information does not mean that GTA VI will be released right away. This step in the development process is very important and sometimes quite long, especially for a production of this magnitude, up to several years. But assuming Rockstar has been working on it for a long time, it is possible, and even probable, to have the first images of GTA VI for this year 2023, and that the release will take place in 2024 if all goes well.
Remember, however, that thanks to this leak, the size of the map has potentially been revealed, being much larger than that of GTA V.
