GTA VI: leak forces Rockstar Games to release first trailer earlier than expected

For the second time, GTA VI succumbs to the attacks of leakers. After having the gameplay unveiled in August 2022, this is the first trailer that leaked on the internet, several hours before the broadcast planned by Rockstar Games. The publisher thus chose to publish the trailer earlier than expected on YouTube.

GTA VI already impresses, but you will have to be patient

The release of GTA V dates back to September 2013. More than 10 years later, its successor is finally made official through a first trailer.

But sharing this first trailer did not go as planned. Supposed to be published at 3 p.m. this Tuesday, December 5, 2023, the trailer simply leaked on the Internet on the evening of Monday, December 4.

Faced with this situation, Rockstar Games quickly reacted a little after midnight by declaring on Twitter/X: “Our trailer was leaked, so watch the real one on YouTube”.

Without much surprise, the publisher pulled out all the stops for this first trailer for GTA VI. We rediscover the city of Vice City, between parties, accidents, robberies and even… social networks. Indeed, several passages show publications of short videos (like TikTok, Reels, etc.) as well as live.

Two protagonists are highlighted: a woman and a man, which obviously brings to mind Bonnie and Clyde, an emblematic American criminal couple of the early 20th century.

At the end of the trailer, Rockstar Games shares a launch window: 2025. There are therefore a little more than two years left to learn more about GTA VI before its marketing.
