GTA V’s dad’s game is inspired by Ready Player One

After a resounding departure from Rockstar, the brilliant Leslie Benzies set up his studio, and we finally learn a little more about his next game: Everywhere.

Leaving with a bang from Rockstar Games in 2018, Leslie Benzies has since been working on a new game. Entitled Everywhere, the title has remained mysterious until today. But what interests us is a presentation published on the Galaxy Interactive website. Spotted by analyst Roberto Serrano, this document lists the companies that have received money from the investment fund. Among the list, the name Build a Rocket Boy immediately appealed to our man, since it is Leslie Benzies’ new studio.

Although the document does not explicitly mention the Everywhere game, it does contain some information on the project of the teams of the former president of Rockstar North. According to the report, the game will be “Ready Player One but in real life”. The reference is therefore made to the book, but also to Spielberg’s film.

A discreet game

It will be an open-world AAA multiplayer experience, including epic multi-chapter storytelling. The document also mentions user-generated content via a “virtual sandbox”, where users can create their own worlds. The focus will be on streaming and social media integration.

Everywhere: an ambitious project?

For the moment, the development of Everywhere has been done in the greatest secrecy, and this is the first time that we have discovered some elements. However, we suspect that the work has been in progress for a long time. We also recall that the title was initially to use the Amazon Lumberyard engine, before finally changing to the Unreal Engine 5.

Out of this description, the only info on the game comes from its official website. A short sentence serves as a teaser and announces this:

In the near future, technology has brought humanity to the brink of a change that will change the world. There are those who want to use this technology for their own benefit, and those who want to help humanity. Will we look to the stars? Or are we going to look at our feet? Will we be inspired? Or will we live in fear? There is a war between good and evil in the hearts of men and women. Everything changes. And no turning back is possible. It’s a game. A community. It’s a new world. The storm is on the horizon. And that’s just the beginning of Everywhere.
