First trailer for GTA 6 is here

Since December 5th it is now official: There will be a new GTA game and it will be called GTA 6. Rockstar Games has already released a first trailer for the game, you can watch it below.

When will GTA 6 be released?

During a financial conference, Take-Two confirmed that GTA 6 will be released in fall 2025. Unfortunately, the company has not yet announced a release date.

However, fans should not forget that the release date can be postponed at a later date. This is not unusual and is certainly possible for a title of this magnitude.

There is no concrete information from Rockstar about a possible version for your computer or the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, but there is at least a hint of a PC version. GTA 6 will probably not be released for PS4 and Xbox One. There is no official statement on this either.

A former developer from Rockstar also hints at a PC version of GTA 6 and gives reasons for it. He also explains why PC versions often appear so much later than the console versions.

Since there will be no new Xbox upgrade, but a new “PS5 Pro”, there is a good chance that GTA 6 will run best on PlayStation in the future. Analysts believe that Sony is also preparing the launch of the PS5 Pro especially for this game.

Can you pre-order GTA 6 yet?

Pre-orders for GTA 6 have not officially started yet. Well-known retailers do not yet list the title. Rumors about pre-orders starting shortly after the release of the first trailer turned out to be false.

However, you can already pre-order GTA 6 from the gaming platform Gamivo for around 90 euros. However, keep in mind that it looks a bit like a placeholder offer. You don’t need to pre-order yet anyway. Rockstar will certainly give you enough time to buy the game in advance and the company will also provide enough copies. We advise you to be patient before you spend money on dubious websites for a game that you can’t even get there.

Rockstar updated its website in mid-2024 and internet visitors have of course noticed. This update provides clues about future screenshots and pre-orders for GTA 6.

In GTA 5 you play in the world of Los Santos. GTA 6 is set in Vice City (Miami/USA), as the trailer now confirms. This has been speculated for years and the mega leak from 2022 also shows areas that are very reminiscent of Florida.

According to Rockstar, Vice City is located in the fictional state of “Leonida”. However, it may also be possible to switch to a country in South or Central America in the game.

A Reddit user has posted a GTA 6 map created from previous clues in the online community and also shows it in size comparison with the game world of GTA 5. Perhaps fans can get a first, rough idea of ​​the size of the map here. However, this fan map is newer and has also received a lot of positive feedback.

The story is set in the 1970s and 1980s, with Vice City and a fictional Rio de Janeiro mentioned as locations. The trailer’s social media elements suggest that it’s set in the present day. Overall, GTA 6 is said to be heavily inspired by the Netflix series Narcos, which is about drug lords from Central and South America.

As an aspiring gangster in Vice City, you get into cocaine smuggling and build relationships in South America before gradually moving up the ranks. You’ll visit a variety of cities, and there’s also supposed to be a large prison. According to the leak, the title won’t rely quite as much on realism as Red Dead Redemption 2, for example.

After all, the developers are apparently focusing on a weather system, and you will also experience floods and hurricanes. You also have a personal vehicle and store your equipment in the trunk. If your vehicle happens to be a vintage car, it will increase in value over time.
