(CercleFinance.com) – GTT announces that it has received an order from its partner the Chinese shipyard Jiangnan for the design of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks of four very large container ships (capable of transporting 14,000 containers each ), on behalf of Pacific International Lines (PIL), a major shipping company in Asia.
The LNG tanks, used as fuel, will each have a capacity of 13,800 m3 and will incorporate the Mark III membrane containment system.
GTT will in particular train crews in LNG, using its G-Sim training simulator, which replicates the future LNG operations of ships.
Ship deliveries are scheduled between the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025.
