(Boursier.com) — During a ceremony held during his seminar in Tokyo, GTT received 4 Approvals in Principle (AiP) from ClassNK, Japan’s leading classification society. This recognition applies to its latest development projects in the field of alternative fuels:
– The 1st is a 12,500 m3 Dual-Fuel large tanker concept (VLCC), equipped with the GTT Mark III Flex system;
– The 2nd is an LNG tank concept to which the ‘NH3 ready’ rating is assigned, which includes the compatibility of materials with NH3, risk assessment and management of the gas evaporation rate;
– The 3rd is an 8,000 CEU Dual-Fuel ro-ro vessel concept (PCTC) with an ‘NH3 ready’ rating;
– The last, for the Recycool system, applied to LNG-powered ships, which makes it possible to reliquefy the excess of evaporation gas, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve economic performance.
