“Guardians of the Galaxy 3” on Disney +: When can you see the conclusion of James Gunn’s Marvel trilogy in the stream?

• “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is now in German cinemas.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” not only ends James Gunn’s Guardians trilogy, but also Gunn’s time at Marvel itself. In addition, the Guardians team as we have come to know them will never be seen in the MCU again. The end of an era that you can now experience in cinemas.

But since the launch of Disney +, Marvel fans have often been in less of a hurry to go to the cinema. In the meantime, it doesn’t take long before the films appear in the stream. Due to the high cinema costs – especially for 3D performances – and the dubious quality of the MCU since the beginning of phase 4, the audience has become more cautious and patient.

But when will “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” start on Disney+? So far, Disney has not given an official date, after all, they are hoping for numerous cinemagoers for the time being, but we looked at the stream releases of the latest Marvel films and were able to determine an approximate time frame.

When does Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 start on Disney+?

Recently, Disney + has been taking more and more time with the release of current Marvel films, as the following table shows:

Disney may want to test whether more viewers go to the cinema if the start of the stream is further away. However, the publications can also have other reasons. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” had little success in theaters, so Disney didn’t have to take their time with the stream release.

“Thor: Love and Thunder” started on Disney + Day on the streaming service, where the film was probably simply saved as a highlight for Disney’s own holiday. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released on February 1st to celebrate Black History Month.

But if we assume that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is reasonably successful in cinemas, the almost 90 days that elapse between “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” between theatrical release and stream release should also in this case be realistic.

That would mean, that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” would be released on Disney+ around mid-August 2023. However, good theatrical earnings could also ensure that Disney saves the film for Disney+ Day in September. According to the current status, however, we are more likely to expect a publication in August.

The cinema will not return to the MCU until November 2023 with “The Marvels”, but on Disney + you can expect the series “Secret Invasion” on June 21, 2023, in which Nick Fury deals with a Skrull invasion.
