- Ten young people escaped from the closed Pramont education center in Granges (VS) on Sunday night.
- Before that, they attacked a guard and locked him up.
- So far they have not been caught.
Shortly before midnight on Saturday evening, the teenagers and young men between the ages of 17 and 24 broke out of the closed education center, as the Valais cantonal police announced. They had previously locked the guard in a cell. He was slightly injured.
Apparently it was a case of misconduct on the part of the supervisor, as Georges Seewer, head of the Valais Office for Penal and Measures Enforcement, told SRF Regionaljournal Bern Freiburg Valais. The public prosecutor’s office is investigating.
The young people then fled in a vehicle that was stolen nearby, the police said.
The cantonal police, supported by the regional police, immediately deployed a rapid and extensive police presence. Despite the investigations carried out so far, the young people have not yet been arrested, it was said.
The public prosecutor’s office and the juvenile court have opened an investigation.
