The rumor has been circulating for a while, and doubt is no longer allowed! Indeed, the creators of the excellent Horizon: Forbidden West are currently developing a multiplayer-oriented game.

And this title will remain an extension of the studio’s action-RPG saga.

A license with a future

Since the release of a certain Horizon: Zero Dawn in 2017, Guerrilla Games chose not to leave the post-apocalyptic world of its RPG anymore. The developers based in Amsterdam therefore proposed a sequel titled Horizon: Forbidden West this year and are now looking at a DLC named Burning Shores which will land on April 19, 2023 on PS5. All this without forgetting the VR opus Horizon: Call of the Mountaindeveloped in partnership with Firesprite, which will launch on February 22 on PlayStation VR2.

Suffice to say that this sumptuous universe has not finished delighting players… Especially since Guerrilla Games is already preparing the sequel. No, it is not yet a question of a Skyline 3, but a kind of spin-off that will take place in the same universe. However, a size difference will be relevant on this mysterious project.

A new MMO on the horizon?

Through a tweet aimed at promoting job offers, Guerrilla Games has formally formalized a game Horizon multi-player.

We continue to create epic single-player adventures for Aloy. But that’s not all. A new internal studio team is currently developing an online project that takes place in the Horizon universe. With a new cast of characters and a uniquely stylized look, multiple friends will have the opportunity to explore the majestic wilderness of Horizon together.

As we can see, Guerrilla wanted to reassure fans that a purely single-player game is in the works. In any case, these projects should not see the light of day for several years.
