“Guests brought their sons to my childless wedding and threatened to sue when it ended badly”

A testimony about a marriage without children caused reactions on the Web. Guests who brought their toddlers threatened to sue after terrible accident.

It’s a divisive subject. Some couples analyze the signs that they are ready to take the engagement step. Then they study those who indicate that they can move on to marriage. Then come the preparations, including the dress, the theme and of course the guests. If this is often a headache depending on requirements and budget, it can also be difficult to accept if you would opt for a marriage without children.

We love outfits for little ones during these celebrations (like these 7 trendy pieces for ages 0 to 12), but some couples prefer to organize a reception in which they are not accepted. A marriage without children that ended badly

On TikTok, Cal Cifer published a video in which she talks about an article she read: an Internet user explains having organized a wedding without children. A couple of guests decided not to respect this and bring their offspring on the big day. When they arrive, they make a scene and the bride and groom let them in. Then the party begins, the parents have fun. “When suddenly no one can find the child”, says the TikToker.

It turns out that this unsupervised child had wandered away and accidentally bumped into a mirror. The mirror ended up falling on the child and seriously injuring him”. Noticing the accident, the guests then threatened the reception venue with legal action for “lack of supervision”. And they ended up targeting the bride and groom themselves, also threatening to take them to court.

A testimony that made the Web react

For Cal Cifer, the guests were wrong: “The child wasn’t even supposed to be there in the first place. You demanded to take him away and you didn’t even watch him”. For her, weddings in generalare simply not safe places for children”.

In comments, his subscribers expressed themselves on this subject. “One wedding I went to specified no children because of a cliff. There were so many children there…”, “It’s ridiculous. It’s nice of them to let him in, but the parents’ nerve is off the charts”… One of them still wonders: “Is this a situation where the parents had to sue the venue and the bride and groom to get the insurance to pay? Too bad anyway”.
