Gifts instead of problem areas, we like to hear that. Guido Maria Kretschmer talked to us about supposed flaws – which aren’t really at all if we style them correctly. This time it’s about: broad shoulders.

Ah, Guido. We dare to talk to a star designer about our problem areas – and we don’t come back with a styling tip on how to hide them, but how we can even stage them! With his charm, Guido Maria Kretschmer always manages to turn our self-doubt into self-confidence. In our series “Guido’s problem zone advice” we confronted him one after the other with a few common physical features that we like to call “flaws” – and which he quickly transformed into a gift for us that just needs to be wrapped properly.

Broad shoulders are a great gift! Because they show that you are stable in life.

And what do we start with? With broad shoulders, which certainly causes some women to refrain from wearing off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. All nonsense, because according to Guido Maria Kretschmer, these parts of the body also deserve a little sunlight, after all, they do something for us every day: “Broad shoulders are a great gift! Because they show that you are stable in life,” Guido admits first take our doubts off the table.

Nevertheless, he understands when tall women in particular are concerned about their width as well as their height. But they don’t have to: “It’s sometimes more difficult for women, especially when you’re very tall,” says Guido, who has a styling tip ready: “Broad shoulders call for one-shoulder. You can wear that very well! “

Layering goes very well with broad shoulders.

If you have broad shoulders, you don’t have to hide them. On the contrary, special cuts in particular can put the upper body in the limelight: “You can also work very well with boat necklines and flowing waterfall necklines that hang over your shoulder. It looks very nice,” advises Guido further. “Layering also works very well with broad shoulders.”

Well, the designer clears up quite a bit with our fashion myths. And we learn: What we have avoided so far can actually be good for us! The only thing you should beware of is collars and horizontal stripes that are too high, the designer adds. Otherwise, he can only think of positive things about the supposed problem area: “Otherwise you don’t need shoulder pads, that’s great!” And after all, they’re back in fashion.
