The figure was unveiled in Berlin. Weeks beforehand, Guido Maria Kretschmer was extensively measured and assessed in order to find every color, every shape and every finest detail. And the makers of the wax figure have succeeded in doing that.

Guido Maria Kretschmer himself was enthusiastic about his doppelganger – so much so that he pulled out the smartphone himself to take a selfie of himself and the wax figure. It was an “unbelievable feeling” to face yourself. “The thought of being ‘immortal’ in a certain way is really fascinating,” he writes about a series of photos of him and his likeness.
