Chelsea are completely overwhelmed against Arsenal

Arsenal FC have no chance against Manchester City in the top game of the Premier League. But the Gunners’ reaction is right: in the London derby against Chelsea, coach Mikel Arteta’s team let off a lot of steam – and temporarily moved back to first place.

Arsenal FC has not given up in the fight for the English football championship. Six days after the 4-1 defeat at defending champions Manchester City, the Gunners defeated Chelsea 3-1 (3-0) in the North West London Derby and recaptured the lead in the table. However, they have played two more games than Man City and their fate is no longer in their own hands.

Martin Ödegaard (18’/31′) and Gabriel Jesus (34′) ended Arsenal’s dry spell of four games in a row without a win with their goals. Team manager Mikel Arteta’s side are two points clear of the champions for the time being but have just four games left. Man City, also still in the Champions League and FA Cup with title chances, will appear six more times in the Premier League – next on Wednesday (9 p.m. / Sky) against West Ham United.

Chelsea, only after the break with national player Kai Havertz, conceded their sixth competitive defeat in a row despite a goal from Noni Madueke (64th). Over the entire duration of the game, the “Blues” had no chance against the focused “Gunners”. The European Cup places are long out of reach for the Blues, while the relegation zone is only nine points away.
