Before No Doubt’s reunion at the Coachella festival, singer Gwen Stefani is struggling with massive memory lapses and nausea.

In the 1990s, No Doubt, the Californian rock band around the singer, landed Gwen Stefani (54), with songs like “Don’t Speak” or “Just A Girl” some hits that are now considered absolute classics. The individual members have mostly been going solo for many years, and their last concert together was nine years ago. It was all the greater a surprise when the band announced on January 17th that they would be celebrating a big reunion at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

“Ex-Girlfriend” makes you want to vomit

In a current one Interview with “Audacy Check In” The US superstar said that the biggest challenge was not to vomit while listening to the old songs. “When I sing ‘Ex-Girlfriend,’ even just saying the title, I almost want to throw up. It’s just like, ‘Oh my God.’ It just takes you back.”

The problem is that when you listen to the songs, the memories associated with them come to light again – and they are not always positive. “I can’t listen to many of the songs because they speak so clearly to me,” says Stefani. “It’s about regretting something and making mistakes. Most of the songs are about that.” Despite the existing physical and mental challenges, Stefani wants to pull off the Coachella gig in April as a routine. Whether she will also play “Ex-Girlfriend” with No Doubt there seems to be extremely questionable.

Stefani can’t remember the lyrics to the songs

As a guest on the TV show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Stefani had already revealed on February 14th that she first had to rehearse the old song lyrics for the performance, which she had now completely forgotten. There she confessed with a laugh: “I don’t remember her. No, not at all. I don’t remember.” In total, she will probably have to learn eight to nine song lyrics again – which, however, does not seem to be her biggest problem when preparing for the concert.
