Gwent: CD Projekt Red clarifies that the next game will not arrive on consoles

CD Project Red took stock of its upcoming year in its latest tax report, and if the year 2022 is likely to be a kind of blank year in terms of releases for the studio, we should perhaps still see the arrival of the new single player game Gwent. This new game responding internally to the name of The Golden Nekker will be a standalone which is planned for this year, at least the latest news, but obviously, the studio is only aiming for a PC and mobile release.

No consoles for Gwent

At least that’s what it assures Vladimir Tortsovdirector of the project at CD Projekt Red, responsible for communication around the projects Gwentwhich states that console versions are not planned for The Golden Nekkerand that this is motivated by the a priori painful experience of the first game on consoles (remarks relayed by Eurogamer):

Consoles, we left them out for a reason. There was obviously some good about them, otherwise there [le premier jeu Gwent] wouldn’t have released on consoles in the first place, but for service games with frequent updates, it was a really tough experience. »

If everything can change in the years to come, for the moment, no project related to a console port is planned. This game Gwent solo would therefore only be planned on PC, iOS and Android at this stage.
