Gwent: Rogue Mage is announced as the new stand-alone card game from CD Projekt


According to its director, Vladimir Tortsov, speaking to IGN, Snape Mage would have been born from these many feedbacks from players of Gwent who expected more from their single-player experience, and who particularly wanted to reconnect with the basics of the mini-game of The Witcher 3.

This new production, which will be sold independently of the basic game, will therefore be based on only four decks, each with three keycards to build around to give them different tones. Each deck should be built around simple mechanics to learn, while they expand as you progress through the game, one card at a time.

To note that Snape Mage will mix with roguelike and that each news run will let the player gain experience, allowing them access to more and more powerful cards. Branches on a procedurally generated map, bosses and difficulty modifiers will also be included. Tortsov talks about a lifespan of thirty hours at most, including successes, while IGN talks about loops of about an hour.

Finally, on the scenario side, Snape Mage takes the bet of the prequel, taking place centuries before the birth of Geralt, and offering us to embody the mage Azul, while he plans to create the first Witcher. The game will be sold for 9.99 dollars (probably the same amount in euros), will have the cross save but will still be playable completely offline.
