Looking for change? Before you redecorate your living room or invest tons of money in new clothes, you can try hair make-up. Here you can find out what it is all about and how you can best use it.

Instead of coloring your hair permanently, you can now resort to a variety of options that change the hair color. A tint changes the hair color for a few weeks, for example. A glossing, on the other hand, gives your mane shiny color reflections and disappears completely after a few washes. Then there is also temporary hair color that lasts about three hair washes or pigmented powder or spray that conceals roots. But THAT was far from everything, as we have now learned. The latest hot trend: hair makeup.

Hair make-up: With a product to the hairstyle chameleon

Coloring is always an issue: theoretically, we have all the colors in the world at our disposal, but in practice we can’t do that to our hair structure – or our scalp. Since bleaching is generally harmful to hair health, there are unfortunately no quick changes between light and dark. But what if you didn’t have to bleach or color for a new hair color?

That’s right, you heard me right: hair make-up makes our wildest color dreams come true. The “Hair Makeup” product from the Curlsmith brand follows the principle of conventional make-up: it stays applied until you remove it with a cleanser (here shampoo). The big and indispensable advantage: the color gel does not stain once it has dried. The particularly opaque color pigments even manage to cover black hair – but they still look natural.

This is how the color gel is applied

As the name suggests, it is a gel consistency that was originally designed for curls. Nevertheless, the product is suitable for all hair types, but especially supports the bounce of curly hair. Because the product doesn’t color your hair, but only coats it temporarily, you don’t need gloves to protect yourself from stains. Therefore, even if you have light-colored hair, you don’t have to worry about leaving an unsightly haze after washing your hair with shampoo. A towel around your shoulders will save you from a reversible mishap. This is the best way to apply your hair make-up:

  1. Wash hair as usual, apply conditioner and detangle.
  2. Apply a leave-in product to towel-dried hair so that the gel can be evenly distributed afterwards.
  3. Divide your hair into smaller sections for more precision.
  4. Spread a generous amount through damp hair until all strands are coated.
  5. Let your hair air dry or blow dry – only then will the full color splendor become visible.

If you have curly hair, you can add definition by finger curling each strand of hair after applying your hair makeup. Blow-drying with a diffuser also creates additional definition.
