Hair trends: the most beautiful hairstyles and cuts for autumn

A new season is the ideal time for a makeover. The most important styles, cuts and accessories for autumn.

Autumn is just around the corner – and with it new trends in hair. And they are quite diverse: New dyeing methods, eye-catching accessories and wild cuts will dominate the transition season in 2020.

Undone Clavi Cut

"Clavi" comes from the English word for "collarbone" and thus describes the length of the hair. The clavi cut is, so to speak, an extra-long bob with the tips cut the same length instead of in steps. The clavi cut "undone" is appropriate for the season – as if an autumn wind had disheveled your hair. Actress Margot Robbie has already discovered the trend hairstyle for herself.

Baby braids

You don't need a talented hairdresser for the playful "Baby Braids" hairstyle: micro-braids are trendy in autumn. Two or three small braids are braided into the loose hair here. The good: the hairstyle works with almost all hair lengths.

Messy pony

Accurately cut ponies are messy this fall: the hair fringes consist of varying lengths and a messy styling, as if fresh out of bed.

Flipped out sleek

The flipped-out look of the 1960s as worn by Jackie O. is iconic – and it's coming back in fall 2020. Stars like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Hailey Bieber prefer to wear it in a high ponytail or half-up-half-down with hair tied back strictly and tips turned outwards. New for autumn: Make an accurate middle parting to loose hair and blow dry the tips outwards with a round brush.

Textured waves

Women with curls and waves can look forward to: In autumn, hair is wavy and edgy, perfect curls are a thing of the past. The less perfect, the better. Women with straight hair can use the straightening iron for a slight wave effect and help with wave and texture spray.

Hair colors: glacage, dialed-up blonde and chunky highlights

Balayage will be replaced by glacage in autumn – a gentler option and the new trend in hair coloring. Glacage is roughly comparable to "glossing". The method refines your own hair color and gives the hair a fresh touch.

The "dialed-up blonde" look, as the influencer Pernille Teisbaek wears it, is also a gentle dyeing method. Instead of bleaching the entire hair, only individual highlights are selectively set in the top hair and the hair is gently lightened.

Dua Lipa shows how it is: The singer wears broad blond strands with her dark hair. With the chunky highlights, everything is allowed in terms of color, including striking colors, pastel and neon tones.

Hair accessories: feminine bows, slider clips and pearls

Large, delicate bows on blouses, pullovers and jackets are all the rage in autumn. And they are also popular in the hair: especially elegant bows made of satin and organza add glamor. The bows can be worked into open hair, braided hairstyles or simple ponytails.

If you have to go fast in the morning, that's no problem this autumn: Simply slide two large clips into the messy hair on both sides at the level of the temples. They come in different sizes, shapes and colors – and they add value to any hairstyle.

Not just for brides and ballerinas: a boring bun or ponytail can be spiced up with pearls in no time and transforms into a glamorous look. You can buy the pearls in the form of hairpins, for example – a real must in autumn!
