You should be careful about getting a pony cut. But since the hairdressers had to close their salons for the time being due to the current corona crisis, we just have more than enough time for this decision. So we can leaf through magazines for cool inspiration or scour platforms like Instagram and Pinterest. But we can also just believe the celebrities and influencers who are already wearing the trend pony up and down for the year 2021.

The most prominent representative of the so-called sweeping fringe aka side fringe is certainly Duchess Kate. Prince William's wife has been wearing the bangs slightly cut to the side for years and shows us what we have always known deep in our beauty hearts: This style is timelessly beautiful and therefore the perfect plan for the time after Corona.

The sweeping fringe is not a pony in the classic sense – that means: We are not talking about a straight pony that covers the full forehead. Instead, the contour is cut in stages so that the hair on the sides falls loosely into the forehead, similar to the curtain bangs, which were already super hip last year. The advantage: The bangs look light and conjure up an extra dose of movement and volume in the hair.

Unlike the full pony, the sweeping fringe is also suitable for every woman. It makes the face appear narrower, so that women with a rather short forehead or a round face shape can join this trend. Even women with curly manes can wear the Sweeping Fringe. But you also have to pay attention to the length of the bangs as they pull up through the curls.

Not too much, because the pony should still be able to easily fall into the face. Incidentally, this style comes into its own when the bangs are cut shorter and extend roughly to the eyes. Time expenditure: less than a minute!

If you like it a little more glamorous, you can do a deep parting and blow-dry your bangs on the outside. For this look, however, the pony sections should be a little longer and end at least at the level of the ears.
