In a new interview, Halle Berry speaks highly of her “Bond” Pierce Brosnan.

Pierce Brosnan (71) made a lasting impression on Halle Berry (58) during the filming of the 007 movie “Die Another Day” (2002). In a new video interview with “Wired,” the actress who plays secret agent Jinx explained: “He will always be my Bond, always.” And she continued to rave: “I’m a Pierce Brosnan fan. He gave me back my faith in men with this film. There is no one who is more of a gentleman than Pierce Brosnan.”

Even though she loves the Bond films, the franchise had not been on her “list” as an acting goal until then, Berry continues. She is all the more grateful for that: “In a [Bond-Film] feels like being part of film history. These films are iconic. They will be a part of our history forever and I feel truly honored to have been in one, especially with Pierce.”

Berry’s Jinx almost got a spin-off

Berry’s Bond girl Jinx was so popular with fans of the franchise that the producers even planned her own spin-off. “Variety” reported in 2020that the plan fell apart after Hollywood studio MGM got cold feet about the planned $80 million budget. “It was very disappointing,” Berry said of the loss of the Jinx film. “It was ahead of its time. Nobody was willing to put that much money into a black female action star. They just weren’t sure of her worth. That’s where we were at the time.”
