  • Horror never dies, which is why Michael Myers cannot be killed.
  • The serial killer didn’t survive every one of the 13 films in the “Halloween” series, but somehow he always came back.
  • This is now continuing, as Miramax is planning a series and several films to start a “Halloween Cinematic Universe”.

Haddonfield will probably never become a safe small town. In 2022, “Halloween Ends” was the conclusion of the latest “Halloween” trilogy, in which Jamie Lee Curtis was seen for the last time as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers was finally supposed to be rendered harmless. That also worked – actually.

In fact, it’s not the first time that the famous serial killer died in a “Halloween” film, but the authors always managed to bring the cult character back to life, logic being secondary. “Halloween Ends” went to great lengths to show that Michael Myers is really dead and that it is actually Michael and not a doppelganger, but it was actually clear: Michael Myers is returning!

The end was just a new beginning

The film studio Miramax already owns part of the rights to the “Halloween” film series and has now also secured the series rights. This means: Michael Myers will soon be murdering his way through several episodes of his own series.

Miramax’s plans are ambitious. According to Variety, a “Halloween Cinematic Universe” is planned in which series and films tell a cross-plot story. It sounds like a new beginning that ignores all previous “Halloween” projects.

A franchise like “Halloween”, which has been known worldwide for 45 years, is of course worth a lot and horror fans will certainly gratefully accept Michael Myers’ revival. Of course, it will be some time before filming can begin, but Michael Myers’ next series of murders could well be expected by Halloween 2025.
