  • Since “Halloween Ends,” there have been a total of 13 films in the “Halloween” series that make you feel spooky.
  • Not all of the films that have been released so far are still part of the canon and therefore tend to cause confusion.
  • Netzwelt reveals how you should see the story of serial killer Michael Myers.

Would you rather have an ending with horror than a horror without end? The “Halloween” series seems to have finally come to an end with “Halloween Ends”. At least Jamie Lee Curtis never tires of mentioning that she will not appear in any more “Halloween” films and that Laurie Strode’s story is therefore complete. But does that also apply to Michael Myers?

Regardless of whether you are dealing with the “Halloween” series for the first time or already know all the films: the correct order is not so easy to understand. Some sequels ignore certain parts or even do without Michael Myers. And then there are Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” films, which are completely out of the ordinary. So how should you go about it if you want to immerse yourself in the world of “Halloween”? We offer you several options.

Note: The relationship between the FSK (Voluntary Self-Regulation of the Film Industry) and the “Halloween” films was quite negative for a long time; many parts ended up on the index or were even confiscated. You can now easily buy most of the films in the series uncut, only “Halloween 2” from 1981 is still confiscated in its uncut version and is not allowed to be sold in Germany. You can also find the director’s cut of Rob Zombie’s “Halloween II” on the index.

Halloween: Sorted by year of release

There’s certainly nothing wrong with the order in which the films were released. It has several advantages: You can see every existing “Halloween” film as fans of the first hour experienced it. On the other hand, “Halloween III” and Rob Zombie’s two films are out of line and events from previous films are repeatedly ignored, which could easily cause confusion during a film marathon. If you still decide to do so, everyone It would take you almost 21 hours to watch 13 films.

  • Halloween: Night of Horrors (1978)
  • Halloween II: Horror Returns (1981)
  • Halloween III (1982)
  • Halloween IV – Michael Myers Returns (1988)
  • Halloween V: Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
  • Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)
  • Halloween H20 (1998)
