The family of the killed camerawoman Halyna Hutchins is in mourning. After the tragic accident on the “Rust” set, she is supposed to look for answers.
The family of the killed camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021) is looking for answers after the tragic accident. The native Ukrainian was accidentally shot by actor Alec Baldwin (63) on the set of the film “Rust” in Santa Fe, New Mexico. “The family mourns, but at the same time they have questions and want answers. If someone has made a mistake, they have to pay,” the “Sun” quotes a friend of Hutchins’ from Kiev.
According to this, the family simply could not understand “how such a terrible thing could happen if there were security measures in place”. The relatives of the camerawoman are currently trying to travel to the USA, but this is not easy: “Your mother does not have the correct papers,” explains the friend. According to the “Sun”, the heads of the film studio fear a major lawsuit by the family, should it emerge that Halyna Hutchins’ death could have been avoided.
Her sister also spoke up after Hutchins’ death. “I can’t understand her death. I was very proud of her and she was my role model.” Parents in particular would suffer from the loss. “Hopefully time will ease our grief,” she said.
How did live ammunition get into the gun?
More and more details about the tragic incident come to light. The US portal “TMZ” reportedthat Alec Baldwin got the gun from an assistant director just before the accident. The revolver was accidentally loaded with live ammunition, according to an arrest warrant from the authorities. Whoever did this in advance is now the subject of the investigation.
Director Joel Souza (48) was also wounded in the accident. Halyna Hutchins was hit at chest level and died in the hospital from her injuries.
