The airline Transavia will resume its flights between Paris-Orly and Tel Aviv at the beginning of February, interrupted since the Hamas attack on Israel at the beginning of October, the low cost Air France-KLM group confirmed on Thursday. And this, despite the continuation of the conflict in the Middle East.

The airline Transavia has announced the resumption of its flights to Tel Aviv from Paris-Orly from February 1, provided that the situation in the Middle East does not deteriorate. “This decision was taken in conjunction with the French authorities and the security teams of Transavia France and Air France,” said the low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM group, in a press release.

A daily round trip from March 18

The resumption of flights will take place gradually, with two weekly rotations from February 1 to 18 (Thursdays and Sundays); three rotations from February 19 to March 3 (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays); and four rotations from March 4 to 17 (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays). From March 18, Transavia will operate a daily round trip with Tel Aviv from Orly. On the other hand, the Lyon-Tel Aviv line “remains suspended”, indicated the company.

For its part, Air France announced on January 9 the next resumption of its service to Tel Aviv, suspended since October 7. Transavia then mentioned a resumption of its own connections for “the beginning of February”.

Several foreign companies have also resumed services

From January 24, Air France will operate three rotations per week between Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle and Ben-Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, a smaller program than the one that existed previously, i.e. two daily connections with large Airbus A350 carriers.

Many other airlines had stopped flying to Israel in the wake of deadly Hamas raids and rocket attacks from Gaza, particularly towards the Tel Aviv region. Since then, the German company Lufthansa has announced that it will resume its connections with Tel Aviv from January 8. The Greek company Aegean has also resumed serving Israel.
