Hamas says it is bombing northern Israel from southern Lebanon

DUBAI, Feb 28 (Reuters) – The armed wing of Palestinian Hamas said on Wednesday it had fired two salvos of a total of 40 Grad missiles against northern Israel from southern Lebanon.

The Al Qassam Brigades specified on Telegram messaging that they had targeted the headquarters of an Israeli army brigade and the barracks of Beit Hilal airport.

Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, which in retaliation launched a vast military operation in the Gaza Strip in order to eradicate the Palestinian Islamist movement.

The Israeli army and Lebanese Hezbollah, allied with Hamas, are simultaneously engaged in their most violent clashes on the border between Israel and Lebanon since the 2006 war. (Written by Clauda Tanios, French version Bertrand Boucey, edited by Kate Entringer )
