Hammer transfer: – Bang: Avdijaj is back in Hartberg!

Offensive all-rounder Donis Avdija is moving from FC Zurich to Hartberg. It was agreed not to disclose the transfer modalities. It is the third Hartberg commitment for the German Kosovar. The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract until 2025 and is returning to East Styria 90 days after the last competitive game for the Schopp squad.

After a whole 2021/2022 season, he moved to Switzerland after the first round in the pre-season. In the winter, the creative player returned to Hartberg on loan and in the spring contributed five goals and five assists to staying up. Donis Avdijaj has made a total of 38 appearances for the East Styrians. “I’m happy to be back in a familiar sporting environment. The decisive factor for my return to Hartberg was that Markus Schopp, but also Christian Gratzei, tried very hard to get me back and I have great trust in our coach. In the end it all happened very quickly because FC Zurich didn’t want to put any obstacles in my way when I wanted to change,” said Donis. “A great piece of the puzzle.” He’s a player who knows Hartberg inside out just like we know Donis. A great piece of the puzzle that we’ve added here and makes us even more flexible offensively. I am particularly pleased that he is back. He not only gives us a lot of energy on the pitch, but also in the dressing room. That’s definitely good for us,” says Markus Schopp happily.
