Hamraoui case: a fifth man placed in police custody

A new individual was arrested on Monday in connection with the attack on the PSG player last November.

A fifth man has been taken into custody since Monday in connection with the Hamraoui case. The individual is suspected of having been at the scene of the attack on November 5, when the PSG player was returning from a dinner with her teammate Aminata Diallo. A suspicious time, Diallo was arrested and then indicted in mid-September, on the basis of “aggravated violence” and “criminal association”. The former PSG player has since been released under judicial supervision.

Considered by investigators to be the instigator of the violence against her former teammate, she denies any involvement in this case where her former club, Paris Saint-Germain, is a civil party.

According to the Versailles prosecutor’s office, the man in custody could be the fifth man sought by investigators from the Banditry Repression Brigade (BRB), as mentioned in a recent investigation report consulted by AFP. This report also highlights the role of a sixth person, presented as having played the role of intermediary.

Aminata Diallo “sponsor”?

In addition to Aminata Diallo, last week, four men born between 1999 and 2003 were indicted for “criminal association” and “aggravated violence”. Two were imprisoned, the other two placed under judicial control. During their police custody, they implicated Aminata Diallo, presenting the ex-PSG player as “the sponsor of the violence, to allow him to occupy the position of the victim during future competitions”, according to the parquet floor of Versailles. One of these four men admitted having kicked, the other three said they had been present at the scene of the attack.

The international (seven caps for the France team), without a club since the contract which bound her to PSG expired in June 2022, was finally indicted on September 16 and placed under judicial supervision. She had to pay a deposit of 30,000 euros.

His judicial review also requires him to reside with his father in Grenoble, his birthplace, with weekly check-in at the police station and a ban on contact with players and the PSG club. The judicial information, opened in the wake of the attack, was extended to “organized fraud” in March. No indictment has yet been linked to this part of the investigation. Contacted, Hamraoui’s lawyer declined to comment.
