Romain Molina, a freelance journalist who has made himself known for investigations into the world of football, was heard freely by the judicial police of Versailles on Monday as part of the investigation for “organized gang scam” opened after the attack of footballer Kheira Hamraoui, we learned on Tuesday from the Versailles prosecutor’s office. The journalist was heard as a witness, said the prosecution, confirming information from the newspaper The Team.

After the attack on PSG player Kheira Hamraoui on November 4, 2021, a judicial investigation was opened for “criminal association” and “aggravated violence”. The investigation was then widened for “organized gang scam” due to suspicions of actions in the entourage of Aminata Diallo, a former PSG player suspected of having attacked Hamraoui, to destabilize the capital club.

In this part of the investigation, César Mavacala, sports adviser to several Parisian players and close to Diallo, was indicted last month for extortion in an organized gang. He is notably suspected of having, last season, put pressure on the Parisian club about the extension of the contract of Parisian star Marie-Antoinette Katoto, provided that Kheira Hamraoui leaves PSG at the end of the 2021 season. 2022.

César Mavacala is the only person to have been indicted, said the Versailles prosecutor’s office. More than a dozen people have, on the other hand, been heard free, as witnesses, in recent weeks, he added. Among them, in particular, the former French coach Corinne Deacon, whose lawyer denounced a “media destabilization operation meticulously set up against her”, and Romain Molina, heard on Monday by the banditry repression brigade (BRB) of the PJ of Versailles.

“I have not been accused of anything at all”

“He is suspected of being one of the journalists who would have been used by Aminata Diallo to pass on information on the potential actions of (former coach) Ollé-Nicolle”, indicates to Agence France-Presse a source close to the case. “It’s totally false,” assured Romain Molina to AFP, “it’s the opposite of what was said. At the end of my hearing the commander even said to me: “Indeed, you have nothing to do with it.” »

“I’m taking over the business in December, so I don’t know Aminata Diallo,” pleads the journalist. “I never frequented Monsieur César (Mavacala) either, you really can’t say that I was instrumentalized. And I was heard as a witness. I repeat that I was not accused of anything at all. We talked about the Ollé-Nicole affair. »

Former Parisian coach Didier Ollé-Nicolle was kicked out of the club last season for behavior deemed inappropriate towards a player, which he disputes. A judicial investigation against X for “sexual assault by a person in authority” had been opened by the prosecution. Didier Ollé-Nicolle was heard freely in this context, without being prosecuted.

Romain Molina is the target of two complaints filed last year by Kheira Hamraoui for “harassment”, “publication with a view to influencing judicial decisions” and “public defamation”. Charges he disputes.
