Hand on it !: If you use THESE words, you automatically appear smarter

Admittedly, it is not always appropriate to throw foreign words around, and one does not always have the goal of looking like a little Einstein. Because that can sometimes come across as less authentic. However, there are situations in which we wish to be able to stand out through our language, for example during job interviews or upscale events. In case you are not already using them: Here we have a few magic words that will make you look pretty intelligent.

eloquent

Use this word and you are automatically yourself. Because Eloquent means "eloquent" and increases the IQ by 100 percent!

Obsolete

"It's superfluous!" you can replace from time to time with "That's obsolete".

affect

The sentence "That affects me peripherally" has already made it to cult status. So that it doesn't look silly, you can simply say "That doesn't really affect me". Translated means: "I don't mind / don't concern me".

adequate

Thinking something "adequate" instead of "fitting" or "appropriate" automatically sounds like an intelligence beast!

aversion

Sure, there's no objection to an honest "I think football is really shitty". But there are situations where an "I have an aversion to football" is perhaps more appropriate – and much more effective!

conversation

"I just wanted to have a conversation." Sounds a lot smarter than "I just wanted to chat a little bit"

Imply

"That implies that he likes dogs" is a nice alternative to "That automatically means that he likes dogs"

Torpedo

If someone wants to prevent something from happening, they "torpedo" something. Sounds a lot smarter with a foreign word, doesn't it?

renitent

He never actually does what the boss says? Then he is "renitent" We think: Pretty cool word to look smarter!
