Handigang: is the TF1 TV movie based on a true story?

The TV movie Handigang, broadcast this Monday, May 2 on TF1, tells the story of a disabled teenager who decides to fight against the problem of accessibility. But is it based on a true story?

TF1 broadcasts, this Monday, May 2 at 9 p.m., the TV movie Handigang in which Alessandra Sublet embodies, for her first role in front of the camera, a mother confronted with the problems of accessibility of her handicapped son played, meanwhile, by Théo Curin, Paralympic swimmer amputated of the four limbs in his childhood and seen recently in More beautiful life. But is this fiction based on a true story? Télé Star brings you the answer.

Handigang is, in fact, theadaptation of an eponymous novel published by Cara Zina in 2017. She tells the story of a disabled teenager who lives alone with his mother and who, with his group of friends, valid or not, will undertake to solve the problem of accessibility through direct action. A project that immediately appealed to Alessandra Sublet who, however, hesitated before accepting. “I seem to be my diva but, when Stéphanie (Pillonca, the director, editor’s note) offered me the script, I had a problem of legitimacy. And then I liked my job as an animator, I didn’t see why looking for noon to two o’clock. But Steph insisted and she made me spin! It must be said that the producers, Pierre-Antoine Capton and especially Sidonie Cohen of Lara, are the ones who created C à vous there at thirteen trusting me. That was a lot of stars aligning!”she explains to us in the columns of TV Star.

Alessandra Sublet in Handigang: this condition that she imposed

Alessandra Sublet, who recently announced that she was ending her hosting career to devote herself to acting, imposed a condition to play in Handigang : be filmed naturally. “I was both used to the camera, which no longer impresses me, while no longer having to look at it, nor wear makeup. Besides, I asked to be filmed in staying natural. Make-up and hairstyles have always been a nightmare! I’m glad people really see me.”she tells us.
